This was a trial kit given by SampleStore.com with waived delivery. The Sample Store is definitely not something new to me, I remember how the site was on my bookmarks when I was in my JC days. I would stalk the site for their new additions and 'chope' all those with waived delivery! Not new, for an aspiring #auntie. They had recently resurfaced to the local trend and these are the featured products for their re-launch!

es Cleansing Foam Wash

There are many tiny 'holes' in the pump which froths up the cleansing liquid to instant foam.

*Angry Skin Alert*
Please don't judge and/or compare me to the endorser!
If you're sharp-eyed, you might have noticed my brow is broken. #shavingmishaps

To my surprise, this bottle of sample is pretty big! Just half the volume of the retail size.
This cleanses pretty well, it doesn't over dry out the skin and leave it as if it is going to tear anytime after wash. (Pardon the gore) I  just meant, tight. :)  *smiles sweetly*
I would suggest using this in the morning if you have oily skin like me. Or after makeup removal as the last step of the double cleansing.
I've to agree with one thing, or which most of you might have already guessed, that the bubbles created are not dense. It lathered up like how my Hada Labo AHA+BHA Exfoliating Wash might had (with hands). The bubbles are not microscopic, but I don't mind much. I think it's because they limited the concentration of SLS (or another sulfate surfactant) as large doses of them are not 'healthy', especially for sensitive skin. If I leave them on my skin, say for a minute or two, most of the bubbles would have been subsided. Of course, since you're not leaving on your skin untouched; you'll cleanse your face in circular motions and that act naturally creates more bubbles.
The reason why many Japanese girls are converts of dense facial cleansing foams is because they believe it can reduce friction of the skin ( to cause wrinkles ) and to reach into the pores for purification.
This is slightly acidulous, I'd an open wound (from pimple picking) that day I tried it and it stung a little. To the best of my knowledge, the acid is added to regulate the pH so that it is similar to that of the skin's so as to minimize irritation.
P.S. : Sorry for the lack of humor, but I had been overwhelmed with lab reports recently, and I tend to sound a tad more scientific.

es Lotion

In 3 words: Unpigmented, light and watery
My palm lines were hardly defracted by the liquid.
Unlike Hada Labo's previous 'lotions' ( specifically the Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion) this is not thick, it is really like a toner.
This takes a little while to be absorbed. I don't have the habit of using cotton pads, but cupping your skin with your palm helps in the absorption of this nutritious liquid. You know that it is completely absorbed when your skin no longer feels sticky*.
* The stickiness mentioned here is unlike that of the Hadalabo Hydrating Lotion, its just freshly-applied-toner stickiness. I'm bad at words, but "less sticky". HAHA
I usually skip the either one of the last 2 steps of the 3-step regime, I.e. I either use toner or moisturizer, but seldom both. Partly because it is too time consuming for me to wait for toners to be absorbed, and I'm no fan of the 'stickiness'. Unfortunately, my skin had been flaking due to AHA peel and it alone doesn't moisturize my skin enough. Of course for the normal lady who follows the 3-step regime religiously, this will probably work for you :)

*update 26/11/13:
I've gave this toner another chance, this time I applied it on with cotton pads! This was after I read Jermaine's blog on the importance of toners. To my delight, my acne-ridden forehead started to clear! The 'stickiness' is still present but less noticeable (probably because the liquid don't get onto my fingers), it will be mattified out after it's absorbed.

 es Milk

This milk (or if you allow me to name it, 'lotion') has a very lightweight consistency. It is easily spreadable.
This is my favouritest product of the es line! This is as "gentle as water" and definitely in line with their philosophy of being "light and non-sticky"!  It is lightweight enough to not suffocate my pores while providing adequate moisture for my current skin situation. It's hard for me to find a moisturizer that is not too greasy and gets absorbed well by my skin, many of the ones I've bought were either left to reach expiry or used as a body lotion instead. I haven't got an empty for milks/creams in near 3 years! This is one product that I'm likely to purchase! :) YAY

es Makeup Remover
Unfortunately, I seldom put on makeup to school nowadays due to my hectic lifestyle, my days start early and end late. I would rather be bare-faced than with smudged makeup at the end of the day. Agree, no? Therefore, I regret that I would have to conclude this entry not having the opportunity to try out the es Makeup Remover. I doubt I'll do so until I hear the bells of Christmas day. *sings carol* LOL

Overall Verdict of this Line:
Packaging: I like how hygienic the products of this line are dispensed, my bacterial-filled fingers were not given a chance to reach into the products! Super love. IDK whether other girls will complain about the clinical-like blue and white packaging, I like the colour combination as ... it reminds me of the professional settings of the lab. :S

Smell: The products of this line all have a light chemical (acidulous) smell, pretty similar to the products in Hadalabo's earlier launched AHA+BHA Exfoliating Wash. Not overwhelming on my nose, I can smell it just because I've to bring the product up to my face to use it. HAHA

Effectiveness: These products are gentle enough for the sensitive skin. They did not cause any adverse reactions such as to break me out or ignite an allergy, but I need more time to try these products out. They definitely fulfill their purpose I.e. to clean my face or to moisturize my skin.
Just take extra care to avoid open wounds especially with the cleanser as they do contain some weak acid.

*update 26/11/13:
These products do calm down my skin and my breakouts had pretty much settled down after using these products for about 2 weeks. I passed these products to my teenage little sister for trial and she had been bugging me to buy the full retail size of the es Lotion (toner) since the sample size is wiped out.

Fun fact:
Because I can't help but notice the lines on my palms in the above close-up shots.
You know how individuals can be identified by their unique finger print patterns. The appearance of these ridges are most obvious on your fingers, palms, toes and soles of your feet. Concentrated with nerve endings, these ridges amplify our sensitivity areas to touch.

If you're a good observer, you might have realized that:
  1. The skin are less pigmented / lighter.
This is more noticeable on darker individuals with a larger colour contrast. The palms/sole of feet normally appear to be more pinkish / white
  2. The skin is hairless
  3. There are aplenty of sweat glands
  4. The skin is also thicker (about 8-14 times thicker)
As we make use of these areas more, there is a high probability of the skin tearing / wearing out. Therefore, cell division is faster to produce more skin cells.

As much as I want to bring my geekiness to another level, I'm sorry to leave you in suspense for time had struck me. In the meantime, you can pass time by reading my palm lines. Hahaa
