This is the first time I'd ever dined in Marche, I was comprehending to as I'd came across many poor reviews on them. But somehow, the decision boils down to the convenience of the location. We came in a large group of 6, and had to wait a while before we got seated.

Tables were made of stacked wooden crates, menu chalked on blackboards. A very different flavor to the kopitiam style. Marche has an extensive menu offering European and Asian favourites and it was truly a treat for the eyes.

As you make your way down to the restaurant, you are greeted with various Swiss-themed characters that actually move.

This pup was nodding its furry heads at me!

Seafood Paella Rice $17.90

This was a tad disappointing; I found the rice too moist and oily. While this was served hot, you don't expect such a dish to be cooked on the spot, even the frying wasn't. Moreover, the price wasn't too justifying either. We got a little sick of the rice especially with a few of the last bites.

Chicken & Red Onion Pizza $17.90

This was freshly baked, topped with fresh herbs and red onions. This was one of our favourite orders and a very new introduction to my taste buds as well. Baked to perfection, every inch of pizza triggered my senses. The chicken was juicy and tender, dripping with tomato juices coupled with refreshing leek slices.

Roasted Chicken & Mashed Potatoes
This could be a nice dish, but the meat proportion made it off-balance. This was very satisfying and we almost couldn't finish it. However to be fair, I honestly found the chicken not bad, a little like kampong chicken, nicely roasted to chewiness.
Btw girls, if you're going for a date, look more graceful by choosing something else. I laughed my head off when my cousin resorted to using her fingers and tearing the flesh of the bones with her frontal teeth.
Rosti & Sausage
Btw,is it just me or that this dish looks wrong? LOL

Rosti is a Swiss dish consisting mainly of coarsely grated potato. This rosti is pan-fried, shaped by the pan. Its surface is slightly crisp; it was a very textured dish. The rosti at Marche is slightly more oiled and the potato strips were less packed, imagine sinking your teeth into those potato strips dashed in sour cream. This is definitely one of the must-eats in Marche.

 Mushroom Soup
This mushroom soup was the densest I've ever tasted, in fact the word "cream" shouldn't even be in its name. Topped with bread croutons, this was a delightful bowl.

( Half-eaten ) Ham Crepe $13.90
This was ordered in the midst of our meal so I kinda forgot to take a photo of it.

I've never tasted crepes with meat fillings. Tendered ham together with fresh herbs was wrapped in crisp and slightly sweetened crepe. Good as a dessert or meal.

I couldn't possibly miss out on their free balloons?! HAHA, sorry but there were a few younger cousins with me at that point in time; so might as well.

As we walked along the streets, many toddlers stared at the balloons and asked for one. (about 2-3 was given away); I couldn't pull out my camera in time for a photo as we were all walking but below is an exception.

This little boy was so aptly clad for the festive season!
Just look at the mini Santa! Even the balloon was half of his size!!

The cinematic lights across Orchard road added a very luxurious feel to the city. I feel like I'm in dream land
But no, Cindy won't be doing any Christmas shopping as she is scheduled for work on Christmas (as well as for Xmas eve). Don't feel sorry, at least she works in a lavished environment!

Merry Christmas guys!
