Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. All products mentioned are purchased with my own money and opinions are honest and of my own.
Note: I did not purchase the full line of products, I own only the cleanser and toner.

Towards the end of last year, I've restocked on my skincare basics. I love, love, love products that contain AHA, my fate intertwined with them since I was 17 and they have since been a reliable go-to for clearer skin.

They slough off the topmost layer of skin cells, accelerating turn over rate which translates into

  1. Dry-skin Exfoliation
  2. Decrease in Skin Pigmentation
  3. Reduction in Fine lines and Wrinkles
    Particularly my main concern,
  4. To unclog pores and Regulate oil Secretion
Leaders Insolution was a brand I was quite new to; in fact, I don't think I can claim full product knowledge of any brands since I'm a fickle-minded person, especially when it comes to skincare products. The search for the perfect product is always challenged and products are contested against. I refer you to the "Greed of Humans" HAHA!
I've only tried two of their masks (anti-sebum and teatree relaxing) and I spotted these when I was back at the site for a repurchase.

  • Paraben Free
  • Colorant/ Pigment Free
  • Dermatologist Tested
  • Suitable for Oil/Combination Acne Prone Skin

Since these were detected by my shopping radar, they have since integrated onto my staples. I buy unboxed goods most of the time, they can be up to 70% cheaper than retail stores. Packaging. Honestly, do people really pay more just for a box?! Pfffft, that's kind of absurd!
HAHA I digress.

As mentioned in my November Buys, I am honestly pretty impressed with these new buys, and they were one of the more value-for-money purchases; that is, if you purchase each at $12. Retail stores are pretty much like a black market. >:(

I'm pretty against the existence of fragrances, and usually associate fragrances with "useless", "unnecessary" and somewhat "harmful". The smell of these products are a pleasant surprise, unlike choking cheap perfumes, this smells really smoothing; close to an aromatherapy.

Leaders Insolution AC-Stop Foam Cleansing Face Wash
Foam cleanser for trouble and oily/combination skin which effectively removes excessive sebum, dirt and dead skin cells, deeply cleanses pore-plugging debris with its rich and velvety foam leaving skin fresh, soft and supple. It is formulated with gentle and effective natural ingredients yet not stripping off/dry out skin unlike other acne cleanser. Focusing on key factors of trouble and oily/combination skin: Moisturizing with Maple syrup, Sebum Control with Anti-Acne Complex & Regu-seb, Relieve of Irritation with Chamomile water, Symcalmin and Herba portulacae extract.

This cleanser is a little runny, I usually keep it dry and out of the bathroom after use. You know sometimes when your cleanser gets partially dissolved with water, it tends to roam the cap?! The lid is not too secure and I'm like an elephant splashing water during showers. Urgh, I'm anal about this, it hurts my heart when the product has gone to waste.

Product wise, I'm in awe of how well this can foam up. I use it with my Clarisonic and run it down my neck after I'm done with the face. Regardless of its foam (normally in relative to its SLS concentration), this is surprisingly not drying. And I mean this, even my old-time favorite Mentholatum Acnes Foam cleanser was drying on me. This does not cure or treat existing acne but is a great ward-off.

Leaders Insolution Active AC Toner
A Hypoallergenic mild lotion which contains Herbal ingredients helping minimize pores and controlling sebum production, Chamomile water relax skin troubles for pimples and trouble skins. The Sappanwood Extract protects easily-irritated /sensitive trouble skin from harmful factors and provides anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects. Focus on key factors of trouble and oily/combination skin : Sebum Control with Anti-Acne Complex & Regu-seb, Anti-bacterial with Tea –Tree Oil, Dead skin cell care with Willow Bark Extract and AHA Fruit Complex, Skin Astringent with Allantoin and Gallnut Extract.

This is a hypoallergenic toner, it is near colourless and watery, and a little bit viscous. I like how this dispenses through a pump, never seen a pump for toners. My only gripe with this is that, my heart skips a beat whenever I hold this glass bottle up; I was so afraid that it might topple anytime. Maybe I might lick the floor clean then HAHA

Comes with a pump.
Me like! HAHA shields me from product contamination.

This is a mild chemical exfoliating lotion, I saturate a cotton pad and wipe it across my face after cleansing, twice a day. Sometimes, I do feel a little tingling sensation of the acid on my skin. It leaves the skin with a thin film of acid which feels feel-able on the cheeks, but definitely not sticky. But it is usually gone after I proceed on with the moisturizer to seal water in. While its still damp, i spritz on a mist of the thermal spray; we all know that skincare products absorbs better on damp skin, right?

Can you use this daily? I do, and you probably can; but you would have to watch your skin. If it feels too tight, cut down the frequency of use to perhaps say alternative days. It is definitely more comforting when you follow this up with a spray.

I have sensitive and acne-prone skin which usually breaks out with usage of AHA (at the beginning), which is also termed as the 'purging' phase, but it didn't happen with this product. In fact, my skin actually got a LOT clearer! However, note the fact that we all have different genetics, some people might experience a "purging phase" for such products. Don't be too taken aback if you do, cut down the frequency and observe if it agrees with your skin, if so gradually increase use; if not, then you should know best.

However, one point to note is that these products being less loaded with preservatives, their shelf-life isn't too impressive. The goods I've bought were freshly manufactured but their expiry date is a mere 2 years away. So I will strongly urge people to buy when you need. Its a good habit to be nurtured anyway, right? HEHE

Have you tried an exfoliating product? If so, do you like it?
Regardless of the case, I always advocate on the importance of sunscreen. Especially with the usage of AHA products; they expose new layers of skin cells which needs to be extra-protected from the sun!
