[Makeup] EOTD: L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Les Ombres Quad S4 Tropical Tutu Eyeshadow Quad Palette
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review, the product is purchased with my own money and all opinions are of my own.
What should I say; the colours caught my eye. If I put on makeup, it is probably a clean one, just jet black liquid liner and maybe mascara if I'm in the mood. My asian lids usually don't comply with the "beauty standards" and I can't do hold a huge party on them. "What for? Waste money only." HAHA To be very honest, its not that bad of thing when I think twice on purchases.
I consider it "luck", when L’Oreal Paris forced itself into my vision when it launched on Qoo10, offering this eyeshadow Quad for A DOLLAR, yes, one freaking dollar. What can I lose?
And so, long story short, it landed into my hands (within the next working day, delivery was swift and commendable, that should be how all online purchases should be like). *beams* *grins*

Sometimes when I feel stressed (from studying), I head towards the dressing table, sit down and flip through my stash of stuff, apply a face full of makeup and I stay at home.
This particular colour combination is obviously not the safest bet of most women, let alone someone who has never touched eyeshadows. Unfortunately, my notice of the offer came late and I had to settle with this HAHA. On hindsight it might be a blessing in disguise, I wouldn't want to look as if I got chronic dark eye circles or got punched in the eyes. HAHA
This reminds me of this one time when I was sipping some porridge with my grandpa at the hawker centre, he stopped eating of a sudden and was staring intensely at the cleaner auntie. And finally out of utmost concern, "佢系咪卑人地打啊?(Did she get beaten up?)". Wtf right, but her working environment was warm and humid and it is no wonder that the makeup will smear??
I digress, back to the palette.
I absolutely adore the colours, they remind me so much of summer; which is erhem, Singapore. The shimmer on the powder is not too overpowering, unless you take a lot of flash photography; then it would be too flashy. HAHA! The white, or silver, highlights subtly and you can load it onto your browbones, inner corners of the eyes or to accentuate your "aegyo sal".
This combination of colours made me look peranakan, right? HAHA |
I started with a wash of the lime green on the center of the eyelids and the blue at the edge of the eyes, blending into the hollows of my eyes. Since the distance of my brows and eyes are narrow (plus my hooded asian eyes), I had to spread the colours up beyond my crease. Did the lime green make the navy blue look as if it was another shade of green??
A dab of white on the inner and outer corner of my eyes and a teeny swipe of orange-red on my lower lash line. And of course, some brow powder, liner and MASCARA. The liner was a new purchase as well, *guilty* but the red pencil liner did balance out the tones in the look, right?
Since I'm staying at home anyway, I skipped the foundation or BB cream. Some of these photos were taken with the "beautify" effect of the camera to make myself look more presentable in photos.
Oh btw, the colours will not show up as pigmented and rich as on the palette on your eyelids if you don't apply a primer underneath.
Yes, my bed is unmade 90% of the time, 100% when I try to take photos. |

Since the hype on 3D printing is still raging, here's the latest invention by Grace Choi (Harvard Business School) that allows you to print your own makeup. Yes, of any colour and texture, for that matter.

It hasn't exactly sunk in to me that a year has passed (in school, that is.) No longer a freshie! I'm heading off to embrace my new found freedom. It is kind of ironic how schooling bars me from reading, and guess where I'm heading to this first day of new life? The library! Pffft, don't hate!
The planning of my timetable excites me that most, like whenever I feel the need for a "motivation gush" during the exam period, I'll pull out a notepad and start drafting.
As of now, most days start at 6AM and begin with a jog-and-walk session with the dog. I would love to dedicate this time to jogging entirely or the more upgraded version, run-and-jog, but give me some time first ya? Then, socialising with my busy family and friends and MORE alone time; because reading makes me feel spiritual.
Good luck guys, and excel in whatever you're doing; BYE!
