We are all well-aware on the celebrity #nomakeup selfies trend, #smug (phew, long name isn't it?), but not all of us has won the genetic lottery. They need to stop putting pressure on normal women! What can we do? We'll need to employ the softest of lighting and a kind filter, oh did someone mention "makeup"? I'm still not quite prepared to share my dark eye circles, blotchy skin and imperfect pores to people (other than my dog) just yet.

So I'm going to live with my cosmetics. I've eyebrow powder dusted on my brows and eyes and MASCARA, tons of them layered on.

As good as all cosmetics are marketed, they have to be stripped off by the end of the day. And that better don't take long! Or involve some sort of sticky mess. Ze Queen needs her sleep. The appointment with the bed is next minute.

Oh, just look at that magic word, "WATER"! But, it is really effective in removing all those pore clogging junk, like, all of it?
Wth does "micellar" mean anyway? All soaps, detergents etc. have molecules with both hydrophobic (water-fearing) and hydrophilic (water-loving) properties, so as to envelop the oil content (hydrophobic) within it, and rinsed away with water. You can imagine this as a sphere to trap all the junk. But isn't this water? Yes, it still is, and that's the great thing about it!
  • Watery Micellar Technology that effectively dissolves and lifts of all makeup including mascara and eyeliner
  • Natural Mineral Water from the Northern Japanese Alps for a gentle and soothing formula
  • Enriched Collagen and White Tea Extract for brighter, softer and suppler skin
  • Anti-bacterial formula helps prevent pimples and breakouts, and minimises pores for a clearer and more refined complexion

After 1 wipe.
Since there are 2 sides to the cotton pad.
What makes this so special?
  • Oil free
  • Fragrance free
  • Alcohol free
  • Colorant free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Allergy and opthalmologst tested
This doesn't leave any residue behind, doesn't make my skin feel oily, doesn't sting my eyes and I can get tons of uses out of this. The gentle formula also makes it good for sensitive skin.  And the pump! You guys know how much a pump means to us. The last thing you want to do is the endless screwing of the cap, or spill over (IDK, maybe you're drunk after drinking HAHAA).
However, this is NOT tasteless. I know you won't taste it for no reason. You'll get to taste it when you remove any lip makeup, not disgusting, but bitter. But then again, you won't taste it often. HAHAA

So, usage is pretty self-explanatory. Soak up the cotton pad and wipe away, and leave it for 5 seconds to remove eye/lip makeup. When the cotton pad is already loaded with makeup, repeat again with a fresh piece until there are minimal residues left.

See, I've told you, right?
I've had some bad reactions to some makeup remover which either
(a) didn't completely remove the makeup or
(b) ended up clogging my skin instead (which makes me wonder if I'll be better off not washing my face).
Bad reactions vary, I'm glad that I haven't experienced many, but you'll know if it is not suitable. Your skin might feel irritated, red, blotchy; heavy even after double cleansing; or the worst- breakouts that last for days. Ooh, did I mention this yet, I like how its anti-bacterial formula is suitable for acne-prone skin.

And one of the advantages of this product also lies in its price. We all know how to compare any makeup removers that feels like water to the "Bioderma". This Biore cleansing water is $18.90/300ml and the Bioderma Sensibio H2O for $29.90/250ml. So, this is like a no-brainer really. HEHEH
(I can't say anything other than the price of Bioderma because I've honestly never tried it before.)

In A Nutshell:

Pros:
+ Leaves no traces of makeup
+ Lightweight and refreshing
+ Don't require rinsing
+ Doesn't sting eyes
+ Pump!
+ Cheap, long product lifespan

Cons:
- Tastes bitter

And as always, FREE samples are available, psst, have you checked out the new samplestore.com website yet??

Or on Biore's Facebook page!

Bioré Micellar Cleansing Water retails at $18.90/300ml and is now available locally in all pharmacies, hyper and supermarkets and selected departmental stores.

  1. I tried both bioderma and biore. Both are good but I prefer Biore.
