[Travel] Nature Feast: Cameron Highlands Malaysia, Pahang (1/2)
Hello everyone, I've not been around for a while. Nothing much happened, conflicts are expected of most romantic relationships, right? Since I'm on it, I might as well tell you guys all about it (I need to!! Just be a responsive listener!).There was a third party, Work, who started courting me; he did so for about 8 months but stopped here and there, and now he's back again. But here's the thing you see, though I feel on drugs with Internet; he treats me almost better than himself, Work makes me a more mature person and guarantees me financial independence. So guess who I went for?
This is kind of a more complicated story, because of the lack of self control, I started flirting with this guy called Travel. Those days were impression-giving! He always had a surprise for me every single moment I was with him. And Internet wasn't present all along, so I assumed that he didn't care as much about me as I thought. Internet's response was in fact, sluggish and was only more alert in more modern places like Starbucks, but that's about it. The fling is over, however, because I find Travel a little materialistic. It was heart wrenching to pull the brakes. As I mentioned earlier, a life devoid of excitement will render it not as exciting, these should remain as momentary indulges.
I dedicate this blog entry (and the next) to those 3 days of "dating" with Travel.
Day 1: Gunung Brinchang Trekking
This was highlighted to be a trekking trip, so we begun with it. The weather god wasn't benevolent on that day and the path was muddy and challenging. Fun, yes; but the last time I trekked was back when I was 14??!
But I seem to have a thing with shoes. These were medical plasters that were wasted to secure my shoe soles to its body. And the entire roll of it was used solely for the purpose. HAHA damn fail. This pair of Salomon belongs to my dad, who forgot about its presence. And his daughter pulled out their life support.
They were brown to begin with. |
We walked past plenty farms, mainly of vegetation plantations. |
The goat, which people showered their attention on. I'm not too sure about letting it lick me just for a photo. |
A random handsome guy. |
The columnar bushes are tea leaves |
My friends call this the classic "itinerary for aunties", which includes the van fetching us to a ton of sightseeing places for photography (and shopping). Entirely guided that is. This is a strong sign that I'm aging because I actually enjoyed it. Day 2 was the best day. HEHEH
Buddhist Temple
It was Vesak Day, that's why. HAHAA
But like all temples, the architecture are fashioned after the imperial palaces of ancient China with some symbolic creatures such as the dragons and lions(?).
And kids! who came with their grandparents bending over to look at the koi fishes. OMG, pedo auntie mode is on again. There were a few locals living in Cameron, they had schools (but mostly primary).
A row of street stalls outside the temple. |
Which sells mainly accessories and household goods. |
While everyone was taking their photos...
I drifted off and stalked this wedding couple. It just takes a bit of tongue bribery like "You're so pretty! Can I snap a picture of you??!"
And the groom charged me SGD$50 for every photo taken. HAHAA
And the kids, who were intelligent enough to bathe in the pool under the scorching sun. They even jumped multiple times for me to capture jumpshots for them!! AWWW!!
Nature's Jacuzzi |
No, look carefully. It wasn't. |
And a random selfie with both highlights of the place |
BOH Tea Centre
Where tea leaves get purified and processed etc. HAHA I'm not too hungry for knowledge, but hungry for some tea! The trip leader treated us to tea (and desert) at their brewery.
Sorry, I'm not a sadist. The "cool" switch just happened to be triggered. And I was so engrossed that I didn't snap any pictures of the food. HAHAA |
The view from here was superb, the travel peeps were all at the balcony in attempt for panoramic shot. |
To be continued in the next post, since Day 2 still has: Bee Farm, Butterfly Farm and Rose Garden, which translates into too long an entry. HEHEH
The Accommodation: De’Native Guest House
The host, was a kindly old uncle and checked on us often to make sure everyone balek (returns) before he turns in. There are 2 levels, 3 toilets- one at the ground floor and two at the second story and 3 bedrooms- one at the bottom, two at the top.
The living space, which is transformed into Genting casino at night |
Our room for 5. Toilet (right) and the door to the balcony (left) |
View from the balcony: Another row of rooms for rental |
