Disclaimer: The products in this post is sent to me for review purposes, I'm not paid to do this review. All opinions are honest and of my own.

While I'm not in exactly in a culture that sees fairness as an quintessential beauty, like say the far east asian counterparts, I do fear dull skin and pigmentation. Yes, so priest don't look at me and judge, "why is asian biatch trying to be white".
And I did realize that as I get older, my skin gets darker. Metabolism is failing me in all ways and I'm so melancholic about my younger self. HAHA If you get the pun. Melanin, melancholic? HAHAHA This also translates into the increment in pigmentation count. I'd stuck to these as my day time routine for the past week and here today for this review.

Like many others, I used to have a bad stereotype about Bio-essence as their main customer base seems like the older women. I don't really remember how this happened, was it because of their distribution channels (including supermarkets), various range of anti-aging products packaging or marketing. But we've seen them gone through a brand new image revamp with Linda Chung as their brand ambassador, and their products are well-served for all ages.

Bio-essence Tanaka White Double Whitening Day Cream SPF 20 ($29.80/ 50g)

You probably expected this to be about "whitening" since its the magic word that caught your eyes. And yes, you're right, but just half-right. Over the years, Bio-essence has well educated the consumers on the benefits of Tanaka, which also has other benefits:

  • whiten skin,
  • brighten dull skin,
  • prevent dark spots,
  • lighten pigmentation

I like day creams, and I usually only get those with SPF. This new formula has SPF 20. Yes, it may look thick but was I fooled. The cream is light-weight and not sticky, it gets absorbed into the skin with a matte finish. This seems to control oil to a noticeable extent, because my makeup stays put for a longer duration of time. And of course, as a moisturizer, it hydrates your skin.

It smells light but the fragrance lingers on your skin, for a long long time. But your nose supposedly gets accustomed to the smell after some time I guess.

Combined together with the other wholesome ingredients-
  • Tanaka Extract
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Tranexamic Acid
  • Pomelo Extract
  • Ginseng Extract
  • Angelica Extract
  • Gingko Extract
  • minerals
you get evened skin glowing with radiance at the end of the day. Can I ask for more?

Bio-essence Tanaka White 4X Intensive White Serum ($45.80/ 30ml)

See the special ingredient? Now 9X better!
  • Alpha-Arbutin (9X more effective than Beta-Arbutin in skin whitening)
  • Tanaka Extract™
  • Kojic Acid
  • Tranexamic Acid
  • Bio-energy Fluid
  • Bio Mineral Amino Acid Essence

The serum is dispensed with this pump dropper, and is extremely liquid and spreadable. I like it! And the next few photos were taken within a 5 seconds time frame so that you know how fast it gets absorbed in.

BeautyQQ (Queenie Chan)  has repeatedly taught us how to DIY an intensive spot treatment for dark spots. Watch: DIY Whitening Patch 0:46

I do have some stubborn acne marks which taints the skin with an offensive darker area which can be easily mistaken as active pimples. See, the trauma acne gives people? Those normally take a few months to completely go away, and if a breakout reoccurs, then forever.

The Bio-essence Takana White products are available at Watsons, Guardian NTUC Fairprice, personal beauty stores, major super markets, and Sasa outlets. Prices start from SGD$10.80.

Today is the blogoversary! *Throws confetti* Time flies, and its 2014. I did a quick run-through of the viewership graphs, and while fame and stats weren't exactly in my mind all the time, I appreciate it. They encourage me to be more diligent in frequent postings. Thank you for even stopping by. While I'm admittedly not an active player in this community, I'm glad how this blog serves as a platform for me to document my growth.
This year has been an incredible journey, and a considerable volume of new experiences were, well, experienced in the past year. I don't share everything in my life here, since its public. I'm grateful for having this to help me kill some time, and also you- who read this blog. Tsk, this is getting so selfish, so many "I"s going on. But just some last ones, okay. I don't know how long will I continue to write until it starts to feel like an obligation, but I'll continue to until it does.

Since everyone makes wishes on their birthdays, it'll be awesome if there are more anniversaries to come! HEHEH

Last Day of Work - with the vain guys.
