Review: Kotex LUXE Ultrathin Regular and Overnight Sanitary Pads



The pad that will help you realise that overnight period leakage is never your fault.

Do you feel like a toddler again during your period? Especially with thick, diaper-like pads. 
I feel like a mad woman. HAHAA While the futile war inside can't be helped, choosing the a reliable pad can save you from embarrassment and trouble. 

If we get to live, each of us would have about 350 periods in our lifetime! And that would mean we will spend a total of 6 years menstruating! Like many other Asian women, I'm reluctant to stick anything potentially toxic up into my body. Like *erherm* tampons. Cotton pads are the way to go!

Being resigned to this monthly cycle, I'm excited to try out the new Kotex LUXE Ultrathin! These sanitary pads come in both the Regular (or Day) and Overnight.

Leaks usually happen at the beginning of the menstrual cycle as the discharge is heavier. Sometimes we find ourselves wearing night pads even in the day to absorb the fluid. I didn't use to pay attention to the different brands in the sanitary pad market since I thought they were all the same. Psst! My mom apparently has brand loyalty, HAHA so I've never tried many anyway. Then my mom had her menopause LOL, and I'm left to struggle on my own. HAHHAHAA 

Anyway back to leakage! Absorbency is what we look for first, isn't it. HEHEH The quicker the better! When blood is absorbed quickly into the centre of the pad, it reduces the probability of backflow; like when you squeeze it when you're sitting down. :(

 The Kotex LUXE Honeycomb provides separation of the humid, clammy pad from your skin, all without being too rough. Yes, the best of both worlds is possible! I love the dryness of nets, but they usually aren't soft. The Kotex LUXE honeycomb is a game-changer.  
It is also normal to have some clots of blood that is stuck on the surface of the pad, and they can get really uncomfortable. With the honeycomb net, these blood clots can be filtered away from the surface. 

Then things do not necessary get better on light flow days. It is indeed dryer; but a rough sanitary pad may cause abrasions and itch. And softness becomes important. And we all know that cotton is soft! HEHEH And the Kotex LUXE Ultra Comfort Cover also has this soft cotton surface. 
So SOFT!

The Kotex LUXE Ultrathin Night pads are a tad fancier HEH. Other than the fact that it is longer, the length of the Honeycomb is also increased.

Other than wings, the Kotex LUXE also feature the Surround Lock Protector and U-Shape Back Guard to help prevent leakage!

Unlike my mom, I love trying out new brands. These don't have the fancy stuff like organic cotton, or fragrance etc. But the Kotex LUXE Ultrathin are comfortable, absorbant and cheap enough for another go.

When health education in school first mentioned "period" to me, I thought it is a life-time affair. I mean it as in it will always be there, not once monthly but consistently forever. I thought I could never swim again. (Just kidding, I still can't swim to save my life HAHA, I just loved to play with water. Its normal to expect yourself to be able to swim when you were younger, right?) Blood, I've digressed.

See what I've did there? I've used "blood" (menstruation) as a coarse word; along with "shit", "fk" whatever you have on your list. The whole stigma of period as a dirty shed of toxins; which I hope no one actually believes that they are embedded into that bed of toxins as an embryo. Disgusting.

People avoid talking about this in conversations, and it has even been censored in mainstream media. Who has ever seen period blood on the newspaper or the television? When all other blood is okay to be featured. 

Our periods do not have to be more torturous. 

Periods part of nature, and it is perfectly human. We don't have to pretend that there's no such thing.

[Treatment] (RESULTS) I Survived a Trifractional Fractional Resurfacing (ONLY Aesthetics)

HEY! Most friends will remember me for the depressed scars on my cheeks. Acne has left my life different, and I believe that many who went through moderate to severe acne can understand. The trauma is not over afterwards however, they leave permanent deep scars which will potentially stay with you for life. 

Scars, unlike marks are permanent. Marks left by acne are just brown pigmentation due to the production of melanin. These will usually go away with time as new skin cells from the dermis migrate upwards to replace the old skin cells. However, scars are different.
